I. Overview
The DRE-5C thermal conductivity tester is a comprehensive upgrade based on the DRE-2C instrument. It adopts the transient plane heat source method, and the upgraded product has more powerful functions:
1. It can measure various indicators such as thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, thermal storage coefficient, and specific heat capacity of solids, powders, gels, and anisotropic materials.
2. Added single sample mode, thin slice mode, thin film mode, and uniaxial anisotropic sample mode, suitable for testing samples of different sizes and forms.
3. It supports the use of two different sizes of test probes, which facilitates the selection of different sizes of samples for testing while ensuring testing accuracy.
This instrument is a thermal conductivity meter based on TPS transient plane heat source technology, using Hot Disk as the probe.
Advantages of the Hot Disk method:
(1) Directly measure heat propagation, saving a lot of time;
(2) It will not be affected by contact thermal resistance like the static method;
(3) No special sample preparation is required, only a relatively flat sample surface is needed.
